This is a very nice vintage hand crank sewing machine in a rare slide top cabinet. The serial number confirms it’s a model 12 New Family machine manufactured in 1881 making it 144 years old. It is owned by a neighbour who has moved into a care home and is clearing her house for sale. She inherited the machine from her mother-in-law who died about 25 years ago. The condition of the machine and cabinet is very good and in perfect working holder. It comes with a curved action shuttle and bobbin. Please look at the videos to see the unit working smoothly. The condition of the decals are also very good they have some wear but are a bright gold colour. The rare wooden slide cabinet is amazing given its 144 year old. The cabinet has an internal storage box and a hinged door with a working lock and key. Overall a great example of this Victorian family machine.
