What is an HDMI splitter?

An HDMI splitter is a device used to distribute a single HDMI source to multiple displays at the same time. It is usually designed with ONE HDMI input port and multiple HDMI output ports, like 1×2, 1×4. You can connect an HDMI source, such as a cable box or a DVD player, via its HDMI input port, then connect multiple displays to it via its HDMI output ports. An HDMI splitter works in the opposite direction compared to an HDMI switch. Don't use this splitter as a switch, it will not work because they are different products.
