Commemorative First Day Cover celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the First Flight from England to Australia 1919 to 1979.
This cover is hand signed by the world record breaking aviatrix Jean Batten CBE.
The cover was flown from London to Melbourne via Concorde and Boeing 747. It features a 11.5p stamp and is postmarked 12 November 1979 with a special British Forces Postal Service 1649 cancellation.
The reverse of the envelope is numbered 0549 of 1485 and carries a Melbourne 19 November 1979 arrival postmark.
Included with the cover are two historical information cards and a black and white photograph of Jean Batten.
Condition is excellent with no major creasing or staining.
