Bust of Marianne/Republic/Liberty to right, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with an olive branch; below, signature in intaglio DANIEL-DUPUIS., Personification of Republic, draped and cuirassed, seated left on a rock, holding a standard-flag in her right hand and an olive branch in her left; seated to her right, a child holding ears of wheat in his right hand and a hammer in his left., Graded NGC MS61. Silver pattern coin on matte blank, not dated, with the word ESSAI in relief and the face value in intaglio. Of the greatest rarity, with an estimated mintage of less than 10 coins (GEM 14.6) and the only known example of this type to date. Ex.
