For your kind consideration is this copy of Detective Comics #294 from 1961. This 10-cent, Silver Age book features Sheldon Moldoff cover art. The Batman story, "The Villain of 100 Elements," was written by Bill Finger and penciled by Sheldon Moldoff. The Aquaman story, "The Fantastic Fish that Defeated Aquaman," was penciled by Nick Cardy. The Martian Manhunter story, "The Martian Weakling," was written by Arnold Drake and penciled by Joe Certa.

Look, we've all had it happen. You purchase a comic book on some selling platform, whether it's an auction site or live selling app. You're all excited because you got the book for a "steal" (the seller even said so). You then receive the book in the mail only to discover that the centerfold is detached or the MVS is missing or there's staining/tanning/foxing on the back cover that the seller never revealed in their description. Well, that won't happen here. I reveal every noticeable defect on every raw book I sell. I provide numerous pics of the book from various angles. I also give you an idea of the grade of the book. In other words, I'm as transparent as possible, all the time, every time.

In the title, I refer to the condition of this book as "VG 4.0ish." Translation: were you to send this book in to be professionally graded and slabbed, I estimate it would come back somewhere between a 3.5/VG- (very good minus) and a 4.5/VG+ (very good plus). Please understand, I am NOT a professional grader. This is only MY best guess, based on hundreds of submissions to CGC, of the grade of this book, nothing more. I share this grade estimate to give you a better understanding as to the condition of the book and because I'm just that nice.

As evidenced by the pics I have provided, here are the noticeable flaws with this book: a few spine stress lines on each cover (pics 1-4 & 11), 2-inch spine split at bottom (pics 8. 9 & 11), staple tears at both staples (pics 7-9 & 11), slight chipping left and bottom edges back cover (pics 2 & 11).  The book is complete and the staples are tight at the centerfold (pic 12). Please view all 12 pics I have provided to help you determine YOUR grade estimate for this book, thanks.

FYI, I include a free, raw mystery book with every purchase, usually from the same title...just a little incentive for you, that's all.

Your newly acquired copy of Detective Comics #294 will be shipped to you, via USPS ground advantage mail, no later than the day after receiving payment (unless, of course, that day is a Sunday), bagged, boarded, swaddled in a feathery bed of bubble wrap and secured within a Gemini comic book mailer.

Please check out my other listings. I add new books all the time.
