Red Heulandite with Apophyllite, Prehnite and Chalcedony – Jalgaon, India
📏 Specifications:
Measurements: approx. 14.7 × 6.5 × 3.6 cm
Weight: approx. 566 g
This is a natural red heulandite specimen combined with apophyllite and chalcedony, sourced from India. The piece shows a strong contrast between the warm red tones of heulandite and the lighter apophyllite crystals on a chalcedony base.
Heulandite and apophyllite commonly form together in volcanic basalt cavities, where mineral-rich fluids crystallise over time. The red colour in heulandite is caused by trace iron, while chalcedony forms as a microcrystalline quartz base supporting the crystal growth.
