First one-volume edition of Dickens' classic novel, with 24 engraved plates after George Cruikshank. 

London: Bradbury & Evans, 1846. Finely bound in full calf, ruled in gilt, five raised bands to spine with three labels, lettered and decorated in gilt, gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Front board detached, with a very inexpert repair job to the inner hinge (see phot). Light general shelfwear, rubbing and soiling to boards, repaired tear near spine crown. Internally quite clean.
