This is a vintage VERY RARE Original 3-color MOVIE PROP POSTER

A prop poster from The Blues Brothers (Universal, 1980) that advertises The Blues Brothers performance at The Palace Hotel Ballroom. The kids in the movie were handing out these posters around Chicago!  Some of these posters can be seen in the film handled by the film's celebrity guest stars: Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Ray Charles.

Of course, it is the exact size of the Prop poster (22" X 14")...this could be a 1st or 2nd printing!  There's some people who claim to know if these posters were the ones thrown out by the studio door into a "dumpster" or printed at a different time by the printer TRIBUNE SHOWPRINT INC in Earl Park, Indiana, the company hired by the studio to make and print these prop posters.

...and is printed on cardboard stock.

...and has the greenish box around Jake & Elwood images...

This RARE poster is printed on cardboard stock and has some light red ink stains on the back at the top of the poster.

This poster does have 3 small soft corners, but nice bright colors.

This is a very RARE & HIGHLY PRIZED Authentic Prop Posters from one of the most famous motion pictures of all time..."The Blues Brothers" film was selected for preservation by the United States Registry by the Library of Congress.

This is the Original "BLUES BROTHERS" 1980 Prop Movie POSTER (22" x 14") printed on cardboard stock by TRIBUNE SHOWPRINT INC in Earl Park, Ind...

A Classic Motion Picture...A Great Collectible...

I directed movies & TV shows in Hollywood, Chicago and Tampa for many years and collected Props & Autographs for 35 years! After I obtained this poster in LA, I kept it stored for the past 20 years in a dark, large acid-free bag in a 72 degree storage bin.

They say that most of these VERY VALUABLE prop posters did not survive the filming, had pin holes in them and in poor condition from being hung up on the "Blues Brothers" sets.  They say that a group of posters were found in a dumpster on the Universal Studios backlot during filming.

According to the experts, CineMasterpieces say "It is believed that these posters were printed on a Babcock Press with wooden type. These are extremely rare as not many survived filming. As can be seen in screen shots from the movie, each one is slightly different. The red, yellow, and blue inks melt together in a Rainbow background, but never in exactly the same place. These were made one at a time similar to a silk screen method. The three inks red, yellow, and blue were possibly on the screen at the same time as they were pushed back and forth with the squeegee through the screen on to the posters." Of course, they are printed on cardboard card stock in this exact size.  Most of the repros are printed on paper in different sizes.
