FLANDRE - COMTÉ DE FLANDRE - JEAN SANS PEUR (1405-1419) Jean sans Peur (1371-1419), fils de Philippe le Hardi et de Marguerite de Flandre, succède à son père en Bourgogne en 1404 et seulement en 1405 en Flandre, après la mort de sa mère. Il épouse Marguerite de Bavière (1363-1423). Il joue un rôle très important à la cour et se brouille avec son cousin Louis d'Orléans qu'il laisse assassiner en 1407. Les douze années suivantes sont d'une extrême complexité. Le duc de Bourgogne s'allie tour à tour à la reine Isabeau, puis au roi d'Angleterre, Henry V. Il combat la faction des Armagnacs et s'empare deux fois de Paris en 1413 et en 1418. Voulant se réconcilier avec le dauphin Charles, il est assassiné à l'entrevue de Montereau (1419).
