Founded in 1914 and based in Dallas, the Southwest Conference (SWC) was a major Division 1 athletic conference until its demise in 1996. In the 1980s the member schools were Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University (SMU), University of Texas at Austin, Texas A & M University. Texas Christian University (TCU), Texas Tech University, University of Houston, and the University of Arkansas, In the 1980s conference sanctioned collectible drinking glasses were made available. They were clear glass, 4" tall and 3" in diameter, with each of the member school's logo. It included the TCU (1977-early 1990s) flying T logo where the T extends over the other letters and the 1961-2011 University of Texas flying longhorn. For those of us who remember the SWC these glasses are treasured collectibles. A set of six is offered here. They.are in near fine condition with no visible wear.
