I am an APHA registered seller, UK plant passport issued with every plant.
A good, sturdy and vigorous alata which clumps up well. This clone is always an easy, strong grower for me, making it an ideal beginner’s plant.
Grow in a cool greenhouse or sunny windowsill and water with rainwater. You are bidding on a division from the plant shown in the first photograph, the exact plant you will receive is shown in the second photograph. Your plant will be sent bare rooted ready for potting to reduce postage.
IMPORTANT = please read before bidding !!!
Older sarracenia pitchers commonly develop "indigestion" after catching large numbers of flies, this manifests as brown patches on the pitcher tube and sometimes leads to the death of the individual leaf, but it does not affect the overall health of the plant in any way.
Also, sarracenia have a winter rest period, so depending on the time of year, the plant you receive may have had some of last season’s traps trimmed back for dormancy. This is perfectly normal and does not affect the health of the plant, your plant will begin to grow again in the spring.
I am happy to combine postage for multiple plants, when paying, select the option to pay for postage on the first plant, and select the option to collect in person for all subsequent plants, this will mean you are only charged once for postage and I will send all your plants in one parcel.
If you wish to bid on plants from the following week's listings, please drop me a line I will be happy to hold back your plant until you have completed all your bidding.
I have records of the growers from whom I obtained the parent plants of many of the plants I have on ebay which I am happy to supply on request if I know.
Grow in a compost mix of three parts Irish (sphagnum) moss peat, two parts pearlite and one part silver sand. Place the plant in a position of full sunlight, either on a cool windowsill or in a greenhouse. During the spring/summer growing season stand it in a try containing approximately one inch of rainwater, never use tap water as this is poisonous to all carnivorous plants. Never apply artificial fertilizer or feed with dead insects, the plant will catch enough to feed itself. In winter keep the compost damp rather than wet and allow the plant to rest, a cool but frost free position is best.
