This piece is a Sheets Rockford Co. 1875 small silver plate platter.  It is oval with a lovely slope, resting low to the table: 1/2 inch tall, 8 3/4 inches long and 6 1/4 wide.  It is stamped on the back rim with the Sheets Rockford Co. 1875 stamp and also has the piece style number.  It has been in my family, one owner, for nearly 100 years. The graceful lines of the platter accent any table.
