1955 Nash Statesman Country Club 2 door hardtop.
This car has been in the UK since 2014 and I am the 3rd UK owner. Original Idaho USA registered- paperwork included.
I am a Nash/AMC collector and could not resist this when I purchased it 2 years ago. I have rebuilt the brakes, fitted new rubbers and dot 5 fluid, sorted the overdrive, functions perfectly now and fitted a rebuilt water pump. The car has been restored to a very high standard in the States, paint, chrome are very solid and the interior is immaculate, no rips or tears, unmarked carpet.
196.5 flathead 6 engine is fitted, 3 speed column shift manual with overdrive, motorway friendly. Quite economical and will run on regular petrol. The engine polarity has been changed to negative earth at some point and a 6 volt alternator fitted. Excellent modern gel battery. Electric fuel pump fitted. Vacuum wipers working as they should.
The car sits correctly on cross ply wide white tyres, 6.70/15s, which I don't mind. I could exchange these for larger radials, 225/75/15s, if a buyer prefers.
Technical manual and glovebox handbook included.
A box of useful spares included- rear light clusters, lenses, distributors, manifold plus I will include two complete rear wings acquired some years ago.
A beautiful car from any angle, I have used this at weddings where it outshines the bride. Very rare in Europe let alone the UK.
I have 2 other Nash cars, a Pacer and a Rambler to care for, so I need to be realistic and create some space here.
Viewing and test drive available, but please no dreamers.
