NOTE: Catalytic Converter Laws. In the in State of New York, California, Maine and Colorado you are required to install a CARB-compliant catalytic converter is one that has been approved for sale by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). CARB emission standards for aftermarket catalytic converters are more elaborate than the EPA standards for aftermarket catalytic converters and requires a more extensive warranty than the EPA.

As a result, CARB-compliant catalytic converters typically use an enhanced combination of wash-coat technology and higher precious metal load to meet the stricter emissions conversions standard. A CARB-compliant converter will also have an Executive Order (EO) number/stamp on its body. The stamped number on the converter body must match the correct EO number listed on the California Air Resources Board website for aftermarket catalytic converters.

NOTE: Before buying any Converter, you must be aware that Converters are designed to last the life of a car or SUV / truck. If your converter needs to be replaced it is due to an emissions error/problem in your engine tuning. This must be corrected before you or your installer, install this converter. STOP LOOK CHECK, have this conversation with a qualified installer. Blue overheated converters and shipping are not covered under warranty. STOP LOOK CHECK, look at your old converter is it BLUE! Installing a new Catalytic Converter on a Car or SUV with an emissions error will result in immediately damaging the new converter.
