Pair of antique Victorian encaustic fleur-de-lis floor tiles in the Gothic Revival / Puginesque style, made by William Godwin of Lugwardine.  In a heavy earthenware, they measure approx. 5 inches square and are marked Godwin to the back.  They came in a card box attributing them to the floor of the nave of Chichester Cathedral (see last photo – box not included with sale).  One is in better condition then the other, with some cemented tile adhesive residue to the back and sides, plus one has a few chips to the edges, as per the photos.  The surface glaze has worn.
