This rare 1904 revised edition of The Holden Cook Book of Tried Recipes is a true "kitchen time capsule" from Norton, Massachusetts. Most notably, this copy features a handwritten 1906 inscription from Mrs. Eugene (Emma) Robbins, a prominent member of the congregation, and includes the rare integrated Congregational Parish Calendar. Though in heavily worn, distressed condition with brittle, chipped page edges, the book remains a fascinating historical record. It is filled with unique personal touches, including several pages of original handwritten family recipes—like "Aunt Emma’s Doughnuts"—and eight vintage Tavern Parowax canning labels found tucked inside. An invaluable find for genealogy researchers, local historians, or collectors of authentic early 20th-century New England ephemera.

The book will be sandwiched between heavy cardboard to prevent the brittle edges from crumbling during transit.

See all photos for worn condition as it is very worn.  Sold AS-IS.

Note:  I was reading one recipe for Omelettes that says beat egg whites until stiff.  In 1906 only 8% of households in US had electricity.  Can't imagine beating egg whites by hand until stiff.
