This is a vintage wall art hanging from likely Japan. It appears to be mid 20th century. It is unlikely that jade or more expensive stone are used, but most often soapstone or perhaps nephrite jade. Ivory can be identified by the grain marks, and it is unlikely to have been used. These types of pieces are also commonly seen in Chinese art, but the Japanese use of negative space is apparent here.
In excellent age appropriate condition within its black lacquer wood frame, silk fabric border & under glass. Frame measures approximately 10 1/4” x 13 3/4” x 1” . Frame has some scuffs & paint minimal touch-up. Crack to single flower. See pics for further condition evaluation. Glass pane can be removed from covered top slot.
I am selling FOUR of these types of wall hangings in individual auctions. Combined shipping accepted.
