A beautiful vintage office chair with the Hillcrest Raise & Lower mechanism. The mechanism has unfortunately seized with lack of use, but for someone willing to spend time on it, I’m sure it could be reinstated. The chair is however perfectly functional as it is without the mechanism working.
The seat and back have been re-stuffed & reupholstered within the last 15 years in real leather with a tan finish. The woodwork was finished with beeswax.
The woodwork shows expected signs of use for a chair of its age, small scuffs etc, but there is no structural or significant damage to the frame.
The seat is not fixed to the base, but is perfectly secure when the chair is sat on. The castor wheels all move easily and freely.
