Here we have for sale WITHOUT RESERVE, my friends 2014 VW Transporter factory Kombi which has been fully insulated and carpet lined. I am listing it on his behalf as he doesn't use eBay and has given up driving due to ill health. However I have full knowledge of the vehicle from new as I was the previous owner.
This Kombi is the very last of the 5.1 models and was first registered on 01/09/2014 (64 plate). It is a SWB T30 140 TDI with the DSG gearbox.
The original van specification included twin sliding doors, 2 plus 1 rear seats, 2 single captain seats in the front with arm rests (all unmarked as they have had waterproof covers on from new), sunroof plus satin black Sportline alloy wheels from factory. The tyres are approximately half worn currently. Both original keys are present.
The current owner purchased the van from myself in October 2021, he then had the interior fully insulated and carpet lined. At the same time extra LED lights were added to the rear area, swivel bases to both front seats, 240v hookup with leisure battery plus Van-Shades blinds to sides and rear with a separate blind for the windscreen.
Included in the sale is a quality German made “QUQUQ Bus” camping unit which makes the vehicle very flexible. It can be used as a 5 Seat family car, a van with or without the rear seats fitted or as a 2 berth camper.
The camping unit consists of a full width double bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress, a gas hob unit, fridge, fresh water container plus an unused Porta loo. The whole unit is insurance approved but can be fully removed if needed, it just lifts out. The cost of adding all of the items above was approximately £7000. The front and rear seats fit in correctly on their rails with the camping unit folded back, so there is no problem collecting the vehicle.
Mechanically neither of us have had any problems and have found the van extremely reliable. It has been regularly serviced with the only repairs have been to replace the lower wishbones.
One small negative to point out. Very recently the sunroof has developed an infrequent fault, in that occasionally whilst driving the sunroof will tilt for no reason but will shut again once the button is pressed.
Overall I consider the van to be in excellent condition for a 2014 van. Like any vehicle of that age there are a few minor carpark marks but nothing that detracts from an overall well presented vehicle.
