I am selling my Pleasant / Inter-Mark Sentinel semi-hollow electric guitar, manufactured by Shinko Gakki around 1966. Is it a Burns with that Vibraslim body and pickguard? A Mosrite with that slanted clipped headstock? Framus inspired with the Billy Lorento BL-10 style pickups? This guitar is truly a nod to the musical history of the early/mid sixties! And it has size - 41 inches in length and the lower bout is a full 16 inches across.
Straight neck, somewhat worn but functioning frets, some nicks and tiny scratches, clean electronics and a Burns Vibraslim inspired pickguard with four rolling dials for volume and tone and a switch for deep and light tone filtering.
The tone switch turns the neck pickup off and on. Down position on, up off. The idea must be when both volumes are up you can quickly bring the neck pickup in or out of the mix. The switch also has the output wires to the jack. Have not seen that before! I guess a standard three way switch could be installed. The pickups are distinct in sound but not high output. Am maxed out on pics for the page but can send you one of the wiring if interested.
At some point the tuners were replaced with modern vintage style Klusons. Everything else is original but for the tremolo bar, the spring and washers, which I added.
The pickups read on the meter:
Neck - 7.4
Bridge - 7.5
Both - 3.7
The body is made from laminated birch on the top and back. The neck is mahogany laminate and the fingerboard is rosewood. There are 22 frets, 24.75 inch scale, the neck is medium C/D shape and the nut is about 42 mm across.
The bridge pickup has a bit of chipping in the plastic around the lower screw, which can be seen in a number of the pictures. The bridge has a number of slots to allow for positioning the strings properly on the neck.
The truss rod turns.
Guitar depth is 1.75 inches.
With such size and a semi-hollow body the guitar plays pretty loud acoustically.
Will pack professionally and ship quickly.
Let me know if you have any questions.
