A genuine antique pair of leather leg gaiters / leggings, dating to the late Victorian–Edwardian period (c.1890–1910).
Made from heavy brown vegetable-tanned leather with original canvas lining, these gaiters lace vertically and were designed to wrap closely around the lower leg. They were typically worn for horse riding, hunting, field sports, or by mounted military officers.
Both gaiters are clearly maker-marked inside:
J. P. Landamore & Co. 15 North Street, Taunton, England
Landamore was a respected West Country maker supplying hunting, equestrian, and military leather goods, making this a desirable and identifiable example.
Condition • Honest antique condition with good age patina • Leather remains supple with no major splits or losses • Eyelets intact • Original laces present • Canvas lining intact with expected age wear and marks
