The Alber e-motion PS3025 is the official factory-standard dual-output battery charger manufactured by Ulrich Alber GmbH in Germany for the Alber e-motion M15 power-assist active wheelchair wheel system. It features a unique multi-stream layout that allows users to plug in and replenish both the left and right motor wheels simultaneously. 
The core engineering of the PS3025 focuses on delivering isolated, balanced power to independent lithium-ion battery packs safely: 
  • Dual-Channel Balancing: Features an output layout rating of 2 x 30V DC at 2 x 1.25A (totaling 2.5 Amps combined output). The charger manages both wheels as entirely standalone charging segments, preventing one battery pack from pulling power from or overbalancing the other. [4]
  • Global Voltage Compatibility: Operating on a variable auto-sensing 100–240V AC input at 50–60Hz, this charger works internationally with standard localized plug adapters without frying the internal micro-transformers. 
  • Magnetic Smart Connectors: It typically connects via a specialized Alber M15 dual-Y magnetic cable harness that snaps cleanly into the drive wheels. This protects the internals; if someone drives or trips over the cable, the magnetic coupling breaks free harmlessly without cracking the charging pins or the wheel housing. 
  • Safety Shutoff Protocol: Utilizes an integrated electronic automatic on/off cycle. Once the e-motion wheels hit 100% capacity, the device completely shuts down power transmission, removing any risk of thermal runaway, short-circuiting, or lithium battery degradation. 
The PS3025 model has strict, inflexible boundaries regarding generation compatibility:
  • 100% Native Fit: It is engineered explicitly as the primary power unit for Alber e-motion M15 power-assist wheels.
  • The M25 Generation Gap: It is strictly incompatible with the newer Alber e-motion M25 system. While they look similar from the outside, the M25 wheels utilize an entirely redesigned physical charging dock interface, different internal charging circuit thresholds, and an updated power profile. Sticking an older PS3025 block into M25 hardware will not work.
  • Third-Party Restrictions: You cannot use this to charge standard 24V or 36V XLR mobility scooters. The 30V dedicated threshold is specifically mapped to Alber’s proprietary internal battery management system (BMS) layout.
