Wow, this is a Hot Wheels Chaparral 2D sports car actually autographed by the driver, Phil Hill (long deceased / 1961 Formula 1 World Driving Champion for Ferrari) and car owner / designer / Can-Am driver Jim Hall (winner of the 1965 Sebring 12 hours sports car race).

Both Hill and Hall signed with a silver Sharpie pen. Jim Hall was a Formula 1 driver in the early 1960's and then went on to run a highly successful sports car program with Hap Sharp, with Hall and Sharp winning races. Jim Hall and Hap Sharp were actively involved in the Can-Am series. After the retirement of Sharp in 1965, Hall brought on former F-1 driver American Phil Hill to drive his Chaparrals in the mid to late 1960's. Hill's biggest win driving for the Chaparral team was with co-driver Jo Bonnier, winning the 1966 1,000 kms of the Nurburgring in Germany- the Hot Wheels car I'm offering. The Chaparral 2D ran in 6 races, with one win (Germany).

I was friends with Phil Hill for over 40 years (he died in 2008) and remain friends with Jim Hall, a fellow Texian. They were my boyhood heroes. I can absolutely guarantee you will never, ever, find this Hot Wheels model signed by Hill (Formula 1 World Driving Champion for Ferrari) and Hall (Can-Am legend). Phil Hill's autograph on anything other than a picture is very rare and highly sought after. Check out Ebay for Hill-autographed items and the prices they bring. If you're a Hot Wheels fan, this should be the #1 item in your collection. Phil Hill is one of only two F-1 champions from the USA (the other being Andretti).

Jim Hall is equally important. Hall's cars won in every series they raced in, including the Indy 500 with Johnny Rutherford as the driver. Hall's cars also won in the USRRC, the Can-Am, Trans-Am, World Sportscar Championship, and Formula 5000 with Brian Redman as the driver.
