Original 1838 handwritten invoice from John Bush & Son to the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania Water Works, detailing repairs and supplies for municipal tools and equipment. Includes dated entries from March to June 1838 for items such as chisels, springs, brace irons, and tool repairs. Signed at the bottom by John A. Messenkop, Superintendent of the City Water Works. Back is marked “Ordered to be paid July 23, 1838.” A fascinating piece of early American municipal and trades history. Excellent for collectors of antique documents, Pennsylvania history, or early 19th-century ephemera.
