Description: Hardcover. Inscribed to no recipient on the half title page: "With warm good wishes, Henry Beston." Uncommon signed. Part of the Rivers of America Series. Illustrated by A.Y. Jackson. Perhaps Beston's best known book beyond his classic The Outermost House. The St. Lawrence runs in a northeasterly direction from Lake Ontario to the Gulf of St. Lawrence, traversing Ontario and Quebec in Canada and New York in the United States. Very good in green cloth with light rubbing to corners and spine ends. Previous owner's stylish, illegible signature at the top of the illustrated front free endpaper. In a good only jacket that is tape-reinforced at each corner and at the spine ends, with some loss (now taped over) namely to the spine crown and some dampstaining at edges. A handsome book nonetheless . Very good / Good.
