Employee timetable # 113 from the Alaska Railroad, dated November 22, 1982. This timetable, used by railroad employees, lists all trains operated by the company, passenger and freight, on all lines.
The 30-page book contains divides schedules into the Seward Subdivision (between Seward and Anchorage); the Anchorage-Healy Subdivision (between Anchorage and Healy); the Whittier Subdivision (between Whittier and Portage); the Nenana Subdivision (between Fairbanks and Healy); the Palmer Branch (between Palmer and Matanuska); and the Eielson Branch (between Fairbanks and Eielson). Schedules are listed by train number, with arrivals/departures for stations served. Each station has its milepost listed, as well as the capacity of any sidings.
The timetable has much more information: speed restrictions, side track and spur locations, general operating rules, rules for snow service, rules regarding hitting game animals, speeds, air inspection, flagging distances, slide areas, much more. There are also specific rules regarding the various subdivisions. There is a freight loading diagram, a chart for positioning cars with explosives and hazardous materials, hazardous materials symbols, tables of train speedsflagging diagrams, more. There is a schematic map of the Alaska Railroad on the cover.
The timetable measures appx 8 1/2 x 7 inches unopened. The cover is a medium-weight cardstock, and the content pages are quality paper stock. This item is UNCIRCULATED and UNUSED. It has no writing or markings, no rips or tears, no spills or smears, and the binding is secure and undamaged. A neat colletible for the Alaska Railroad fan.
