This frame built by L.H. is aging but usable. I have owned it for over 20 years.
It weighs 1.9 kilos which very probably means that the model designation 'special'
refers to the particularly light version of 531 used in the build.
There is a lot of surface rust and so it is a restoration project or otherwise keep a
layer of oil on the frame to preserve it just as it is. As the photos show, there are two areas of damage
neither of which effects its strength. One is the slight bend of the right side upper rear stay and the other is
the denting on the head tube. I didn't ever use it with the correct forks which would have had a longish rake.
This frame has Nervex lugs, twin grease nipples underneath the bottom bracket. The campagnolo rear drop out
has had the gear change mount cut off. This is a rare frame, extremely light and deserves to live on with someone
who appreciates the history.
