The compatibility of a Pride Jazzy black power wheelchair headrest is strictly determined by the hardware connection point built into the seat frame. Because Pride Mobility uses three completely separate engineering designs for their head supports, you cannot cross-swap headrests across different seat types.
The exact compatibility rules across the three distinct configurations are as follows:
This design features two parallel vertical steel posts that slide down directly into the top of the chair's backrest.
- Direct Seating Compatibility: This headrest is exclusively compatible with genuine Pride Hi-Back Deluxe Contour Vinyl Seat Backs. These seats feature two pre-drilled, locking receiver holes integrated directly into the upper rim of the cushion upholstery. [2]
- Strict Incompatibilities: It will not fit standard Hi-Back low-profile seat backs or any standard comfort pan seats that lack top-mounting entry holes. It is commonly used on full-sized chairs like the Jazzy 1105 or heavy-duty outdoor Pride scooters.
Unlike the twin-rod models, these black vinyl headrests feature a flat mounting base that bolts directly onto an external metal bracket assembly (Part MEC131662) attached to the center-rear of the backrest frame.
- Direct Seating Compatibility: This setup is the factory standard for Pride's 115° Limited Recline Comfort Seats (available in 16" to 22" widths). It works interchangeably with the plush full-size assembly (SET131939) and the newer "rounded rectangle" low-profile contour model (SETHEAD1077).
- Model Compatibility: It drops directly onto Gen 2 variants of the Jazzy Select Elite, Jazzy Elite 14, Jazzy Select 6 2.0, and the heavy-duty Jazzy 1450.
This design features an external metal support frame that clamps tightly onto the rigid round tubes of a sling-back canvas frame.
- Direct Seating Compatibility: It is engineered exclusively for ultra-lightweight travel frames, specifically the Jazzy Carbon and Jazzy Ultra Light folding power chairs.
- Strict Incompatibilities: It cannot clamp onto any thick plastic or upholstered captain's seats, as it requires raw, exposed structural back rails to latch onto.
