Up for sale is a 100% genuine US Military Galvion (formerly Revision) Viper A3 complete helmet. This is a Size Large, Full Cut ballistic helmet that comes with a unique history from the lab—perfect for a serious military collection or a custom high-end build.
This was acquired as part of a large lot of official U.S. Military testing helmets. If you've ever wondered how the military ensures their gear is battle-ready, this is it. These units are pulled from production runs and sent to labs to undergo a "Quality Assurance" gauntlet.
On the front of this shell, you'll see a hand-written mark that says "Pen L." In the world of ballistic testing, "Pen" typically stands for Penetration (part of "Resistance to Penetration" or RTP testing). The "L" usually indicates the Location of the shot or test—in this case, likely a "Left" or "Lateral" impact point that the lab technicians were tracking. It’s a cool, documented piece of military engineering history that you won't find on a standard surplus lid.
Testing Results: As a result of the lab evaluations, there is a very small dent and a tiny hole on the top of the shell where the test was conducted.
Lab Remnants: You can still see the remnants of the original testing stickers on the front, along with the "Pen L" code.
Overall State: Aside from the specific testing marks, the helmet is in excellent cosmetic condition. No major cracks, delamination, or issues—just a rock-solid piece of hardware.
Size Large: This is the "goldilocks" size that fits most people perfectly.
Complete Kit: Includes the original MSS (Modular Suspension System) Liner, Rails, NVG mount and Chinstrap. These alone cost $300+ if purchased separately.
The "Lab Spec" Look: The combination of the hand-written testing codes and the lab stickers remnants makes this an incredible display piece that actually tells a story.
Because this helmet was subjected to official military testing and sustained a dent/hole during that process, it is being sold strictly as a military collectible for display or collection purposes only. It is NOT intended for ballistic protection, actual combat, or any safety-rated use. I am selling this as a historical artifact, not as personal protective equipment!
The Bottom Line: You're looking at a genuine Galvion helmet with documented lab provenance. Whether you're a historian, collector, or just looking for authentic military gear, this is the real deal.
