Absolutely stunning!

This pair of Mid-Century Modern candlesticks was made by the renowned silversmiths at Bier Judaica in Rotem, Israel during the 1960s.

They are a breathtaking example of the MCM Brutalist style.

The tubular candlesticks are made of brass while the distinctive base is made of pewter. The base features a distinctive sculptural ring of female figures holding hands in a traditional Hora dance circle.

Traditionally, these candlesticks are used on Friday evenings before sunset to welcome the Jewish Shabbat, the weekly time of peace and spiritual observance for the home.

The tradition is primarily performed by women using at least two candles that burn long enough to last until it's fully dark.

The candlesticks measure 4.5"H with a 1.5" top diameter and a 2.5" base diameter. They weigh a combined .75 lb.

They are in very good vintage condition, showing some signs of use and patina consistent with their age.

Just beautiful pieces.
