About the Artist:
Brent Heighton, born in 1954 in Vancouver, British Columbia, is a self-taught professional artist who has worked full-time in fine art for over 40 years. After studying at Algonquin College in Ottawa and what is now Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver, he briefly pursued commercial art before transitioning to fine art, focusing on impressionistic watercolors of landscapes, urban scenes, florals, and wildlife. In 1988, at age 34, he became the youngest artist named a Master of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Heighton draws inspiration from global travels, often painting en plein air, and maintains a studio in Surrey, British Columbia. His works emphasize light, color, and atmosphere, with subjects ranging from European cityscapes to North American nature scenes.
