This is an antique Japanese lacquered 4-tier Jubako box with Maki-e decoration, likely from the Taisho or early Showa period.

It's a beautiful piece that evokes images of people carrying it to cherry blossom viewing parties in the past.

Please note that there are scratches and dirt due to age. The bottom of the top tier is partially peeling.
