Released in 2000, Into The Abyss is Hypocrisy’s seventh full-length album and a defining release of their modern era. The album blends melodic death metal, industrial textures, and dark sci-fi atmospheres, marking a shift toward a colder, more mechanical sound while retaining Peter Tägtgren’s brutal riffing and production signature.

Often regarded as one of the band’s most influential albums, Into The Abyss helped establish Hypocrisy as one of the leading forces in European extreme metal in the early 2000s.
