    About this item

    Refining a legacy design

The brand-new Sensus series component speakers are an ideal way to get luxury sound without dropping too much money into your next project. Morel speakers once fell into two categories: expensive extreme high-end speakers, or inexpensive entry level models for dipping your toes into a more refined car audio sound. The Sensus 63 6-1/2" 3-way component speaker system strikes a balance, using proven parts from luxury components, similar to the iterative design process that turned the VW beetle into the Porsche 911.

    Morel test drive

I recently tested Morel's Maximo speakers in my car, and I was impressed with how clean and punchy the bass was for an aftermarket speaker cone made from the same material as a factory speaker. Funk and hip hop tracks usually create a lot of distortion in other speakers, but it wasn't a problem with the Maximos. I am excited to test and compare Sensus speakers next to the Maximos and see what they add.

    Morel Sensus 63

The Sensus 63 adds a midrange woofer to the Sensus 62 component system.

    Midrange woofer

The Sensus 63 adds a midrange driver to the already impressive Sensus 62 component system for improved depth, clarity, and a better overall musical experience. Midrange frequencies have a more difficult time reaching your ears, especially with ambient noise getting in the way. The additional midrange driver in this 3-way component system can solve issues with muddiness caused by sound waves being obstructed by your feet and whatever other odds and ends live in front of your passenger seat. You'll feel you're really experiencing the music.

    Brilliance above human hearing range

Sensus 63 component speakers use Morel's tried-and-true 1.1" silk dome tweeters with high-quality MXR external crossovers. This tweeter's design originates from Morel's high-end Elate Carbon series component speakers, so the invention you're paying for in these speakers far exceeds the actual cost you'll pay. The tweeters produce up to 22,000 Hz, increasing brilliance and creating an atmospheric, concert-like quality.

    Durability and punchy bass

Sensus woofer cones are constructed using durable and water-resistant DPC (Damped Polymer Composite), which reproduces mid bass and sub bass more accurately all the way down to 40 Hz. Many car speakers can't handle frequencies that low, so upgrading to these speakers from factory will make an impressive difference in the depth and accuracy of the music. The diecast aluminum Uniflow speaker basket is the same used in Morel's high-end Hybrid Integra speakers.
