  • Boosts Weak Signals When Properly Installed - Compatible with all indoor and outdoor passive (non-amplified) TV antennas, this amplifier improves signal strength and quality when low signal is the actual issue. However, it will not resolve problems caused by interference, multipath, or obstructions, which are common with attic-mounted antennas. For best results, users with attic installations may need to move their antenna outdoors to achieve reliable reception. Please note: TV signal meters often do not reflect true RF levels, so the improvement may not be visible on your screen’s meter. Not compatible with antennas that already have a built-in amplifier or were originally sold with one.
  • Higher Power Output Compared to Distribution Amplifiers and Amplified Splitters Making it a Better Option For Weak Signal Areas and Installations with Long Coaxial Cable Runs. Compatible with Channel Master Power Passing Splitters (CM-3212HD, CM-3214HD, CM-3218HD) for Whole-Home Distribution to Multiple TV's.
  • Includes Built-in LTE Filter with ultra low-noise - Blocks Interference From 3G, 4G, 5G Smartphones and Transmitters with EMI & FM Out of Band Filtering (Does Not Pass FM Radio Signals)
  • Provides higher gain and better results compared to Standard Boosters, Significantly Enhancing Signal Strength and Quality. New design supports current and future digital TV standards like NextGen TV/ ATSC 3.0 and 4k.
  • Powered Over Coaxial Cable Using the Included Power Inserter, Eliminating The Need for an Outdoor Electrical Outlet. Suitable for Both Commercial and Professionally Installed Residential TV Antenna Systems.
  • Recommended for Use with High-Quality Passive Antennas and Accessories For optimal performance, we strongly recommend pairing the PreAmp1 with a high-quality passive antenna such as the Channel Master Pro-Model TV Antenna. Using premium coaxial cables and weather-sealed connectors from Channel Master ensures maximum signal integrity and minimizes the risk of signal loss or interference. Low-quality antennas or cables can degrade performance and reduce the effectiveness of the amplifier.

PreAmp 1

Description

The Channel Master PreAmp 1 is a professional-grade TV antenna pre-amplifier designed to enhance the performance of any (non-amplified) outdoor TV antenna. It will boost antenna signal strength, improve signal quality & may increase the number of channels received. It includes a high/low gain adjustment switch located on the power inserter & can be adjusted from inside the home. This amplifier also leverages a new internal filter optimized to support current & future digital TV standards such as NexGen TV/ATSC 3.0, 4K. The heavy-duty weatherproof metal housing is built so that it can be installed outdoors near the antenna where it will provide the best results or it can also be installed indoors. This amplifier can be powered over the coaxial cable using the included power inserter.

It’s important to understand the difference between signal strength and signal quality before adding a preamplifier.

  • Signal strength refers to how strong the signal is when it reaches your antenna.
  • Signal quality measures how clean that signal is — whether it’s free of interference, reflections, and noise.

The Pre-Amp 1 is recommended for most outdoor antenna installations and can help when signals are weak but still present — especially in setups with long cable runs or multiple splitters. However, it cannot create signal where none exists or fix signal quality issues caused by interference, obstructions, or poor antenna placement (such as attic installations). If your setup uses low-quality coaxial cable or connectors, has improper antenna alignment, or suffers from LED or electronic interference, a preamplifier will not correct those issues and may worsen reception.

TV reception problems are often caused by signal quality issues, not weak signal strength. In many cases, interference, poor installation, or substandard components are to blame.

Below are the most common causes of poor signal quality and solutions: (Fix any or all if these issues prior to installing the Pre-Amp1)

1. Poor-Quality Coaxial Cable or Connectors Low-quality or damaged coaxial cable and corroded connectors can cause significant signal loss. Solution: Use high-quality RG6 coaxial cable and weather-sealed compression connectors for best results.

2. Poor Antenna Pointing or Attic Installations Misaligned antennas or attic installations often suffer from signal reflections and multi-path interference caused by roofing materials, insulation, and metal structures.

Solution: Aim the antenna precisely toward the broadcast towers and install it outdoors whenever possible.

3. Interference from LED Lighting Some LED bulbs and fixtures emit RF noise that disrupts TV reception, often affecting specific channels. Solution: Replace or remove problematic LED light bulbs and fixtures.

4. Interference from Solar Power Inverters and Other Electronics Solar inverters, chargers, and certain home electronics can generate strong interference that impacts TV signals.

Solution: Keep the antenna and coaxial cables away from these devices whenever possible.
