A handsome and historic addition to any bookshelf, this set of 10 antique red encyclopedias was written just a few years after the end of the First World War in 1920 / 1921.
Comprising c4,800 pages (480 per book) and weighing a combined c3.7 kg, the books provide a wealth of information on a wide range of subjects that are listed in alphabetical order. Each book is approximately 16.5 cm H x 12.5 cm W x 3 cm D. The set is approximately 30 cm long when displayed in a bookcase.

This set of encyclopedias is over 100 years old yet the books are in fairly good condition for their age - please see photos. It appears to be mostly complete - 2 pages have been found to be missing in volume 6 (see details above), the illustrated cover page for volume 3 is missing and the blank front cover page in volume 1 has been torn out. There are light pencil drawings in some of the books and volume 5 has been stamped multiple times on the front and back blank cover pages. The colour of the spines has faded over the years to varying degrees.
