 was a pioneering and expensive third-party NuBus graphics card for the Macintosh II that offered advanced features like broadcast-quality video capture, NTSC/PAL output, and hardware acceleration using a TMS34010 GPU. It was a key component in turning the Mac II into a professional-level video production and broadcast graphics machine. 
Key Features and Capabilities
  • Video Capture and Output: The NuVista card could capture and output NTSC/PAL or RGB video signals, including still-frame capture. This allowed users to capture footage from various sources like a VGA PC or console, which was widely used by gaming magazines for screenshots.
  • Genlock Capability: A standout feature was genlocking, which enabled the Macintosh display to overlay graphics onto a live video signal, making it suitable for broadcast graphics applications.
  • Hardware Acceleration: The card was equipped with a Texas Instruments TMS34010 32-bit graphics co-processor, providing hardware acceleration for drawing operations, a feature not present in Apple's standard video cards at the time.
