This piece is a natural lapis lazuli, polished into a smooth free-form shape.

Lapis lazuli is a metamorphic rock composed primarily of lazurite, which gives the stone its characteristic deep blue colour. Variations in colour and the presence of minor calcite or pyrite are natural and expected.

This specimen originates from Mine 4 within the Sar-e-Sang lapis deposits, a historically significant source known for consistent lapis production.
