Up for sale is an original Vintage
Wesson Oil Mayonnaise Maker, a wonderful example of early 20th-century
kitchen advertising and food-preparation innovation. This set includes the embossed
glass mixing jar, metal plunger/mixer, screw-on aluminum lid,
and the original printed recipe booklet that accompanied the product
when sold.
These mayonnaise makers were produced
in the late 1920s through the 1930s as promotional items encouraging
homemakers to use Wesson Oil for fresh homemade mayonnaise. The embossed
measurements and printed recipe on the front of the jar, along with the
mechanical plunger mixer, allowed users to whip mayonnaise in minutes.
