This gorgeous wormy chestnut table was built over 100 years ago out of wormey chestnut that started life an an American Chestnut tree (now extinct). With nothing but hand tools and pure craftsmanship it was built by one of my late family members. This table was one of the reasons I wanted to be a carpenter growing up. It is made out of solid wormy chestnut and only has 4 screws that hold the top on. The rest is completely constructed of wooden pins and square dowels. Even where there were a few bigger worm holes he used rectangular inserts to fill them. The measurements are 54.5in long, 31.5in wide, 30in tall. This table has be very well taken care of and oiled often to help keep its beauty. Out of all the antiques I have collected throughout the years this table is my pride and joy. That is why it’s so hard to have to part with it but due to the piling up of unforeseen medical bills from my beautiful wife’s spinal surgery and second emergency spinal surgery just a week after that I am now having to sell this beauty.
