1 x Detector Note: 512 has only one mode, the 'detector' mode. In detector mode, the receiver searches for signals transmitted by a small probe or camera with a built in transmitter that is wired through pipes. The detector must emit a 512Hz signal, and the receiver can determine the approximate depth of the target. First, turn on the receiver, walk around keeping the receiver at waist height, then walk towards the general direction of the transmitter while slowly sweeping the receiver backwards while pointing towards the transmitter. You will notice the signal getting stronger. As you get closer, adjust the sensitivity as needed to keep it within range. When you cannot keep the meter below full scale, switch to 'near' and continue moving towards the direction of the stronger signal. When you reaching the point where the signal seems strongest, moving in any direction will weaken it, and then you know you have found the detector directly below the antenna pole. Move to another location, search for this signal again, see if you always return to the same spot for confirmation. If you correctly perform each step, you should consistently find yourself right above the transmitter each time. Keep practicing until you get consistent results. The product does not include a transmitter and requires a 512Hz transmitter to be used. |
