The Agilent (HP) 59307A is a dual-channel VHF coaxial switch module (intended for rack or bench use) that provides two independent 4-throw RF switching networks. Each switch is bidirectional and designed for 50 Ω systems, covering a VHF frequency range from DC up to 500 MHz. The unit can be controlled locally via front-panel pushbuttons or remotely over HP-IB (GPIB) for automated switching. Reach out to Select-Test.com for further assistance. Switching is performed by relays with a specified relay-settling time of 20 ms, allowing for switching rates on the order of up to 50 channel changes per second under ideal conditions. The relays are rated at 0.5 A at 25–28 V DC (or equivalent in an RF load). The 59307A has matched path delays through all switch positions to minimize timing skew in pulse or time-sensitive signal paths.

The rear panel provides BNC 50 Ω connectors for all input/output paths (totaling 10 connectors corresponding to the two 4-throw switches), plus a 24-pin bus connector for HP-IB control. The front-panel includes status indicators (power on, remote mode, active switch positions) and local control pushbuttons. The device’s combination of high-frequency coverage, matched delay paths, and remote switching makes it suitable for automatically re-routing RF signals in test systems, multiplexing signal sources into a variety of test instruments, and switching between different input or output paths in VHF-range applications.
