EXACT ONE PICTURED

Minted in Japan over 50 years ago during the Showa Era.

The Showa period extended from 1926, through World War II until 1989.

In the early Meiji period (approx. 1871) Japan changed currency from the Mon system to the Yen system. In the new system 1 Yen = 100 Sen and 1 Sen = 10 Rin.

The obverse or front face inscription translates to "Great Japan" until 1945, then "State of Japan" after 1945. There can also be a kanji indication year and coin denomination.

The reverse or back of Showa Era coins typically depict the Chrysanthemum Crest and Paulownia Seal as well as a decorative pattern to tell the difference in coin denomination.

Please keep in mind these are actual antique coins that are over 50 years old, they are in used, worn conditions which is a large part of their charm!
