Xenia, Ohio. Houses are flattened in Xenia, Ohio Thursday after tornadoes ripped through the area late Wednesday. Some 25 persons were killed and scores injured.


The 1974 Xenia tornado was a powerful F-5 tornado that killed 33 people and injured hundreds more when it tore through the city on April 3, 1974, as part of the devastating 1974 Super Outbreak. The tornado destroyed or damaged about half the city, with reports of buses tossed onto school roofs and homes reduced to rubble.
