Fan Mounting

SPAL Brushless fans with diameters 255, 280, 305, 405 (mm) are designed with an “A” suction blade optimized to give the best efficiency in one direction only.

You can obtain both airflow directions out of the same fan simply by mounting the fan upside down.

SPAL recommend mounting a Brushless Fan within a cowling in order to cool the entire surface of the radiator/cooler and obtain the maximum efficiency available.

Q: Should I buy a SPAL fan?

A: SPAL have been around since 1959 and are the go-to manufacturer for OEM's and the aftermarket for ultra-reliable and high performance fans and blowers, their products are built to last. When a manufacturer offers a 36-Month warranty on their products then you know it's good quality.

Q: What fan size should I chose?

A: Go for the biggest fan you can fit to your radiator, if you have a slim and long radiator then it may be best to run twin fans, especially in warmer climates.

Q: How do I control the fan?

A: Basic control of SPAL brushless fans can be performed by a single on/off switch, analogue or digital signal. Please refer to the technical data sheet for further information on brushless fan control.

Q: Push or Pull?

A: Push fans sit in front of the radiator and push air through the core, Pull fans sit behind the radiator (usually the engine side) and draw air through the core.
