It works best with A4 and B5 papers, and the paper positioning guide includes printed markings for these two sizes. However, the A4-length paper holder (11.7 inches / 29.7 cm) can accommodate paper of many other sizes, such as A5 or custom cuts. When punching sheets that are not A4 or B5, the first and last holes may be partial, but the pages will still fit securely into most Japanese and multi-ring binders.
Using the system is simple: align your sheets on the A4-length guide, then press the handheld punch along each notch to complete the row of holes.
