BattleTech: Aces is a card-driven solo and cooperative play expansion for the BattleTech: Alpha Strike miniatures game. It uses automated opponent (AI) rules, allowing players to engage in battles and narrative campaigns without a live opponent.

Aces provides a structured, challenging way to play the game, with the AI
offering a robust opponent that can effectively move and target units on the
board.

Features
AI
Opponents: Aces uses specialized decks of cards to
dictate the actions of enemy units (when they act in the initiative phase,
where they move, and what they target/shoot). Each enemy unit is assigned a
deck based on its battlefield role (e.g., Sniper, Brawler, Skirmisher).
Solo
& Cooperative Play: The system is designed
for a single player or a group of players to team up against the automated
forces.
Narrative
Campaigns: The product line includes branching story campaigns,
such as the initial Scouring Sands box set, where players command mercenary
forces through various scenarios to shape a corner of the universe.
Alpha
Strike Add-on: Aces is an expansion and requires the base
BattleTech: Alpha Strike box set for core rules and components.
Force
Coordination: The actions of groups of automated units are
coordinated by an overarching "Commander" deck that provides target
priorities and special abilities for the opposing force.
