Keyboard is simulated - just a paper sticker on plastic. You "type" by moving the dial to the desired letter and pushing the big button firmly. It works but the ribbon and the spare provided are both almost totally dry so would need reinking somehow. Original box and instructions are provided. The letters on the dial are a bit worn - see photo number 12 - the black that marks the letters on the dial has worn off in places. Great little retro luxury toy. Box showing some wear and tear but when packed it all feels quite solid.
