Bound in early half calf, calf corners, plain boards with gilt lines, raised bands, gilt lettering, marble page edges. Worn with front and rear joint with splits but holding well, internally tanned with some foxing.

Pagination: xi, 379pp.

Approximately 13 ½ inches tall.

Externally

• Spine – good condition – gilt titles, 5 raised bands separating 6 compartments, gilt decoration, worn top and tail with slight loss at the top.
• Joints – good condition – cracked to the top and bottom 2 inches of the front joint, and the top 2 inches of the rear joint, rubbed and worn.
• Corners – good condition – bumped and worn.
• Boards – good condition – half leather binding with gilt lines, some scuffs to the leather in places.
• Page edges – good condition – all marbled.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – cracked to the top 2 inches of the front joint, otherwise intact.
• Paste downs – good condition – marbled, armorial bookplate to the front, booksellers label in to top left hand corner.
• End papers – good condition – marbled, internal free end papers are heavily foxed.
• Title – good condition – illustrated, lightly tanned and foxed.
• Pages – good condition – a comprehensive list of Sheriffs of Hampshire follows the preface, numerous family trees, lightly tanned throughout.
• Binding – good condition.
