Unusual carving. 

Seems to be carved out of one piece of wood.

Very solid and sturdy.

Inner diameter: 5 3/8 inch

(so any vase/statue with base same size or smaller can fit);

1 1/2 inch tall

Nice condition, with no chips or cracks.

Looks old, older than most we see today. ~ from mid 1800's 

There are series of holes along the wavy rim.  These holes are carved at ~45 degree angle (not directly down).

There is also a hole at the center.
